Painting in photoshop

I came across some great digital paintings done by a chinese artist Zhang Lu who currently is a concept artist at Massive Black Shanghai. (http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=124532)

I really like his way of painting, the softness and the vivid glows in his paintings makes me want to paint the whole day. So as a fun exercise , I picked up a cintiq pen once again, and prepped myself to painting mode. I used  one of his pictures as reference and did my own rendition of the portrait.

Adding another digital painting, now slowly I'm headed towards colors~
