Brainstorming short

This is a new project, working with a writer friend of mine, collaborating on brainstorming short stories.

This is Edwina (name might change in future developments), she's quite a character which normally kids of her age should come by as a cool friend to have. However kids treat her differently from what she expected, due to some secrets that she doesn't even know.

This is a pre-visual development of the short, hopefully more ideas will build up in the next month.

T-Time "TEASER" launch

Latest update,
I finally completed a rough thesis short film. Inspired by the cultural settings of Singapore. Digital medium used: Adobe Flash, although I am not a big fan of the look of the lines created in Flash, but as a fast animation platform it is OK. The later film was edited in After Effects. Will be tweaking there and now for a finish look in the next few months time. For now I have a teaser for you out there to view.

New sketches from life drawing (March)

Been too long since I last posted anything relating to drawing.
What's really nice about this latest drawing session was my take on adding watercolor washes onto my sketches.

I always had a fear in coloring in sketches, however it actually came out to be quite interesting and hopefully I will continue with this additional method for future works.

Workshop with Hans Bacher

Never thought in a million years that I will have this opportunity to be studying animation in Singapore, and on top of that having one of the best back ground design/ ex-Disney master Hans Bacher to be sitting 2 feet from me, teaching us and giving us insights of working in a studio and his personal dealings of creating  master pieces....it is awesome!!

Some quotes that i picked up from Hans Bacher's lectures:

I love the quote "Ying and Yang" felt like the Bruce Lee quote  "Be like water my friend". how everything needs to be balanced out so it does not distract the audience too much, but instead capture their emotion at the right moment.
